Shorter Podcasts Work Best: One thing to think about is the length of the podcast, because that can affect its overall quality. So unless you have something totally incredible to tell your listeners, it really is better to restrict the length of the podcast to no more than 15 minutes. So you don't bore your listeners and you keep them interested, its important to keep the podcasts short and to the point. It will also stop you from beating around the bush and trying to drag topics for the heck of it. If you do really feel that you have much to offer in your podcast and you are super confident of your content, then you can make your podcast a little longer, maybe 30 minutes. However your ultimate goal should be to keep it short and simple.

Allow Your Guest to Speak: If you have an interview on your podcast, something that is pretty common to do, then make sure your guest does If someone is listening to your podcast because of the interview, then they will enjoy it so much more if they get a chance to hear what your guest has to say in response to your interview. Your questions should not be close ended, however they do need to be quick and snappy. It doesn't matter what kind of topic you're covering in your interview, if you want your listeners to be happy with your podcast then let your guest handle the 'value-giving' part. There will be times when you will want to give your two cents worth, or talk in between, but having a guest talk is part of the value you are giving, so make sure you don't detract from that.

Cram in the Goodness: You don't want to leave empty space that doesn't offer value, so if you have good content, try to fill as much space with that content as you can. The minds of your listeners will be moving more quickly than you can talk and that will enable them listen and analyze your content faster. So do whatever it takes to get good content and value into your podcast while moving as fast as you can. This aspect can get tricky when you are trying to keep your podcast short, so that's why it important to be precise and to the point and avoid rambling. If you apply these tips to your podcast, you will notice an instant difference in the response from your listeners, something you can build up on as time goes by.
