The Next Biggest NBA Will Be The Clippers

It all began with the spoiled and unsuccessful m?nage a trois deal between the Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets, and the Hornets. Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom were supposed to be traded to league cellar-dweller Hornets with Gasol's journey not stopping at New Orleans. He will be traded to the Rockets for three solid starters Luis Scola, Kevin Martin, and Goran Dragic. The Lakers' were supposed to earn diamond stud earrings wearing Chris Paul in the process. It was supposed to be a trade where all players would away with grins on their faces.

Nevertheless, in the same afternoon, that magical trade was shut down by no less than David Stern, NBA commish. At that particular juncture, the commissioner offered the reason that the Hornets was owned by the NBA and they would want to get a better deal for the team considering that they are now searching for a new team owner who also wears diamond stud earrings. The events that occurred next revealed the real reason behind the trade cancelation and made an exciting team out of one of the oldest franchise in NBA history, the Los Angeles Clippers.

Suddenly, The Los Angeles Clippers found themselves with a superstar guard in the name of Chris Paul replacing Chris Kaman, Eric Gordon, and Al-Farouq Aminu. The Clippers will now have its share of packed audiences from now on. Chris Paul with headline the Clippers lineup together with the very exciting Blake Griffin. A few more years, with good management, the Clippers can easily become the next hottest thing in the NBA. The Clippers, with its current roster, can now attract more fans especially in their home turf, Los Angeles.

The Clippers have never made a trip even to their own division finals. The Clippers has never made a trip to the playoffs more than seven times. No wonder they have been tagged by Sports Illustrated as the worst franchise in US sports history.

However, it seems that the tide is about to turn for the Los Angeles Clippers. Blake Griffin, who was unable to play in his first season due to injuries, is now healthy and raring to dunk again. In fact, he won Rookie of the Year. Eric Gordon is already a star. And Chris Paul is Chris Paul. The Clippers lineup can now match any of the formidable frontliners of some of the biggest teams in NBA, according to
